Occupancy permits are required by the Valley Park Fire Protection District for owners or tenants to occupy or re-occupy existing commercial space, to occupy newly constructed space and residential compliance inspection are also required.  Other agencies or local governments may require an occupancy permit to be issued as well. This application is not a permit itself.

Sewer Lateral Insurance Program

Sewer Lateral Program Details

The owner of a 6 family home, duplex, condominium building, or multi-family building containing not more than six (6) dwelling units is entitled to have their defective sewer lateral line repaired by the City of Valley Park’s Public Works Department in compliance with the City of Valley Park’s Residential Sanitary Sewer Lateral Repair Policy and Procedures governing this program.

Commercial and industrial properties cannot participate in the program. Multifamily and condominium developments that contain more than six (6) dwelling units per building are not eligible for this program.

*** Please Note: Most municipalities, cities, and counties with sewer lateral programs limit reimbursements and expenses to the amount available in the Fund at any time. Some offer waiting lists and reimbursements out of the next year’s Fund revenue. Funds typically are on a first-come, first-served basis. You should always check on fund availability. Additionally, most municipalities will require proof of PAID real estate tax bills, city fees, taxes, including personal property taxes, and trash fees if applicable for eligibility to participate in any available programs.

It shall be unlawful for the owner of any structure or his agent to sell, transfer, lease or otherwise dispose thereof to another until he shall have secured a certificate of compliance, and such owner shall be responsible for abating any violations necessary for a certificate of compliance to be issued, unless such owner or agent provides the grantee (including a lessee or mortgagee) with a true copy of the notice of any violation or compliance order which must be abated before a certificate of compliance is issued and provides the City with a signed and notarized statement from such grantee acknowledging the notice of violation or compliance order and fully accepting the responsibility, without condition, for making the corrections or repairs required within a reasonable time established by the City Manager or Director of Public Works, not to exceed ninety (90) days.
